Your MacBook Pro will create local Time Machine snapshots when it cannot connect to your Time Capsule. When you do re-establish the connection, it will continue to make backups to the TC.
So we built Backblaze's cloud backup for Mac using Apple's Xcode and put the controls in the System Preferences using a native interface. It doesn't matter if you are running macOS 10.8 or higher, Backblaze's online backup service will work for both. Shop for back-up for mac at Best Buy. However, if the data on your notebook is critical to you, I would suggest that you also create a clone copy of it system drive and keep this clone updated periodically. Two excellent apps for this are: Carbon Copy Cloner and SuperDuper! Both will require an external drive to make the backups to, but if you use a portable drive, like a WD My Passport, you can easily take this drive with you when you're away from home.
I do not necessarily recommend cloud backups for two reasons:

I do not necessarily recommend cloud backups for two reasons:
- They are extremely slow, and
- They will require enough storage space for your backups .. which, most likely, will come at an additional cost. Note that the iCloud Drive is not intended for backing up Macs, not even with Time Machine. However, they can be used for backing up iOS devices.
If you really need to backup to the cloud, I would suggest that you only copy critical files when needed. You can also look at a cloud solution, like BackBlaze.
